Bob Dylan pittore e scultore al Museo MAXXI di Roma dal 16 dicembre
«È molto gratificante sapere che le mie opere visive saranno esposte al MAXXI, a Roma: un museo davvero speciale in una delle città più belle e stimolanti del mondo», ha dichiarato lo stesso Dylan. «Questa mostra vuole offrire punti di vista diversi, che esaminano la condizione umana ed esplorano quei misteri della vita che continuano a lasciarci perplessi. È molto diversa dalla mia musica, naturalmente, ma ha lo stesso intento».
Distintosi anche come scrittore, poeta, conduttore radiofonico, Dylan, è diventato una delle più importanti figure a livello internazionale in campo musicale, in quello della cultura di massa e in quello della letteratura.
Robert Allen Zimmerman, dal 1962, ufficialmente Bob Dylan, Premio Nobel per la Letteratura del 2016, da tempo si esprime anche attraverso la pittura e la scultura. La prima esposizione di arte visuale si tenne nel 2007, con la mostra “The Drawn Blank Series” presso la Chemnitz Art Gallery in Germania.
Poi seguirono mostre alla National Portrait Gallery di Londra e alla National Gallery of Denmark di Copenhagen. Non poteva mancare un’esposizione alla potente galleria Gagosian.
La leggenda del Folk Rock e Blues sbarca a Roma con un esposizione al MAXXI, dal titolo “Retrospectrum”.
La mostra itinerante, a cura di Shai Baitel, è stata prima al MAM di Shangai e al Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum di Miami. Il 16 dicembre approda a Roma, prima tappa europea, in una versione che vuole inserirsi e interagire con gli spazi del museo romano, progettato dal l’Archistar Zaha Hadid.
In esposizione oltre 100 opere tra dipinti, acquerelli, disegni a inchiostro e grafite, sculture in metallo, materiale video, che terranno traccia di oltre 60 anni di attività di Bob Dylan. «Questa mostra – ha spiegato Baitel – che abbraccia tutta la carriera di Bob Dylan, presenta il suo approccio unico all’arte visiva e la sua padronanza della pittura, del disegno e della scultura. Offre l’opportunità unica di vedere il viaggio creativo di Dylan attraverso il tempo e i luoghi, tra cui la scalinata di Piazza di Spagna, immortalata nell’opera ‘Quando dipingo il mio capolavoro’».
