Il mondiale dello sputo, si tiene nel Lazio in uno “sputodromo”
Ebbene si, anche lo sputo è divenuto una disciplina sportiva con un mondiale tutto suo.
Succede a Celleno in provincia di Viterbo, a un’ora da Roma. Borgo già famoso per l’omonimo paese fantasma, dove è stato allestito un vero e proprio Sputodromo.
Chiaramente la competizione non prevede lo sputo di saliva, ma dei noccioli delle ciliegie locali, molto rinomate. Il record mondiale stabilito nel giugno 2018 è di ben 22 metri e 80 centimetri. A registrarlo Mauro Chiavarino, che è entrato di diritto nel Guinness dei Primati. Il record sarebbe rimasto imbattuto fino ad oggi. Nel 2021 la competizione ha visto il nocciolo fermarsi a soli 17 metri.
Il mondiale si tiene solitamente durante la Festa della Ciliegia tra il 10 e il 12 giugno di ogni anno. Una celebrazione che da mezzo secolo coinvolge il borgo con festeggiamenti e sfilate di carri allegorici dedicati a questo straordinario frutto. Ad aggiungere la competizione di sputo del nocciolo, è stato Saverio Senni. Professore del Dipartimento di Scienze Agrarie e Forestali dell’Università della Tuscia, a Viterbo e residente a Celleno. Senni si è ispirato a delle competizioni simili che si tengono negli Stati Uniti.
